On 15th of February, UNESCO’s Director-General, Irina Bokova, took part in a high-level symposium at the headquarters of the United Nations World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) in Perugia, Italy, entitled: “Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Education, Science and Culture around Water”.
Ms. Bokova, who recently made public her candidature to become the next UN Secretary General, said: “[…]water is not just a technical matter, water is about human dignity, it is about gender equality, it is about peace and science diplomacy” (more here).
The video #5 of The Water Rooms “War or Peace” was shown to the audience during the meeting highlighting the fact that water, is in fact a driver for peace.
“The Water Rooms” initiative once again inspired the audience with its incisive, scientifically sound and yet emotional messages.
